Bradley E. Spickler Memorial Scholarship

It is our sincere hope that this scholarship fund will help with financial
assistance for a Senior Student Athlete at Smithsburg High School pursuing
a college or trade school degree. Bradley was a very kind and humble person,
but he was also very competitive in the many sports he participated in.
He always showed great sportsmanship and had the utmost respect for his
teachers, coaches, and his teammates in high school and college. We are
proud and excited to offer this scholarship to a Senior athlete who has the
same attributes as Bradley. – Greg & Cindy Spickler
Judge Andrew F. Wilkinson Endowment

Judge Andrew F. Wilkinson’s Family Endowment began with the family’s belief that
our pain had to have a greater purpose. We decided that an essential part of the path forward in
healing was to help others, specifically organizations supporting individuals facing the
realities of domestic abuse. In our case, we took the first step and made our primary
focus Citizens Assisting and Sheltering the Abused (CASA Inc.) in Washington
County, MD, because of the quiet and unpublicized work they do to help others
navigate the complexities and dangers of domestic abuse.
Our next step was partnering with The Community Foundation of Washington
County, Maryland, to create and manage Drew’s Endowment. We selected the
Community Foundation because it is an established organization that has a
well-earned reputation for its professionalism, discretion, and responsiveness.
The Community Foundation is also esteemed for its ability to work with our
local community.
We appreciate the Foundation’s dedication to the local area and are confident
in their expertise to manage donations that will provide long-term support for our
chosen cause as a part of honoring Drew. – Stephanie Wilkinson
